Girideepam basketball tournament
KOTTAYAM: The 18th Girideepam all-India inter-school basketball tournament, for boys and girls, begins at the Girideepam Bethany School here on Friday.
Twelve teams will figure in both the sections in this league-cum-knockout event which runs till November 24.
Nirmal Bethany School (Pune) in the boys’ section and Lady Sivasami Iyer HSS (Chennai) and St. Joseph’s Matriculation HSS School (Salem) in girls’ are the outstation teams in the four-day tournament.
Cherupushpam boys from Chandanakampara in Kannur and Mount Carmel girls (Kottayam) emerged champions last year. — Principal Correspondent
