Coimbatore: A fine piece of bowling by William Mathew (six for 10) saw favourite RKS Kalvi Nilayam score a 49-run win over Satchidananda Jothi Niketan (Kallar) and enter the final of the CDCA under-13 inter-school cricket tournament, for the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis Trophy here. The scores: Under-13: Semifinals: RKS Kalvi Nilayam 92 for six in 20 overs bt Satchidananda Jothi Niketan (Kallar) 43 in 14.5 overs (William Mathew six for 10). Quarterfinals: Keartiman 97 for six in 15 overs bt CMS 77 for nine in 15 overs. Non-age group: Quarterfinals: Sathya Sai 54 in 14 overs (Nithish Kumar Sahaney four for 3) lost to RKS Kalvi Nilayam 55 for one in eight overs, Jayendra Saraswathi 111 for eight in 20 overs (Subramani four for 24) bt VCV GHSS 81 for seven in 20 overs. In the District schools badminton tournament, Vanshika of Suguna Pips scored a hard fought 21-17, 18-21, 21-15 win over Rithika Prasad and entered the under-10 girls’ singles semifinals on Thursday.
