Mines official in ACB net

HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Thursday registered a case against Kadiam Ramachandraiah, Assistant Director of Mines and Geology Department in Tandur of Ranga Reddy district, on charge of amassing wealth illegally.

Searches in his office at Tandur and houses at Mansoorabad on the city outskirts and his village Nagaram of Nalgonda district revealed that he had allegedly acquired assets worth over Rs. 75 lakh that were disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The properties included two houses -- one at Nalgonda and another two-floor building at Mansoorabad, two flats and 11.20 acres of agricultural land in Nalgonda district.

Estimated market value of these properties was Rs. 2 crore. Other assets unearthed during the searches were, Rs. 24,000, gold jewellery worth Rs. 3 lakh, a car, a bike and Rs. 1.5 lakh bank balance, the ACB stated in a release.
