Sudden downpour, accompanied by thunder, took the commuters in Tirupur by surprise on Thursday.

The sky was overcast almost throughout the day except for few sunny spells in the morning.

The disaster management and mitigation department sources said that Tirupur and Avinashi received 4 mm rain each during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 a.m. on Thursday.
