Nepalese delegation visits Alandur

TAMBARAM: A dozen officials from different government departments of Nepal are on a two-week visit to India as part of a tour to study the various infrastructure projects currently on and their implementation.
The officials, who came to Chennai, are part of a Management Development Programme of Infrastructure Development, sponsored by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. Speaking to reporters at Alandur Municipality on Thursday evening, Kamal Raj Pandey, Joint Secretary, Nepalese Ministry of Physical Planning and Works, said they would be touring different States in India to study basic and major infrastructure projects executed and currently under way.
“We want to see the projects not just concerning local administration, but others including Highways and other government departments as well,” he said. They had come to Alandur where they had learnt that the underground ground drainage project was implemented on a public-private partnership model. Alandur Municipal Chairman R.S.Bharathi, Commissioner R.Mohan and Municipal Engineer N.Mahesan were present on the occasion.
