Hyderabad: Breathtaking air shows, horse riding shows, fly past by microlite aircraft and other cultural programmes will be organised during the concluding ceremony of the 60th National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day celebrations at Parade Grounds on Sunday. The three-day celebrations commenced on Thursday with a blood donation camp at Bison Polo Grounds in Secunderabad and over 1200 cadets and officers donated blood on the occasion. Similar functions are being organised at all district headquarters in the State. The current year has turned out to be prosperous year for the State NCC as it had bagged the Prime Minister’s prestigious banner during the Republic Day celebrations for its performance in different fields, including sports, firing, boating competitions and also conducting the 60th NCC Day celebrations, said NCC Secunderabad Group Commandant Colonel, Rajender Singh, to reporters on Thursday. The last day’s ceremony will also see a colourful NCC Day parade on Sunday. Minister for Higher Education R. Chenga Reddy would be the chief guest and would be presenting the Chief Minister’s Overall Championship banner, Conditions Trophy to the best groups and other awards to meritorious cadets, he added.
