Hafeez performs hat-trick

NEW DELHI: Nigerian recruit Hafeez scored a hat-trick as Gorkha Heroes overwhelmed Bangadarshan Club 4-0 in a group ‘B’ match of the DSA ‘A’ division football league at the Air Force ground, Race Course, here on Thursday.

Deepak scored the other goal for Gorkha Heroes which has taken its tally to 15 points from five matches. Bangadarshan has not opened its account yet from six games.

In another match, B.S. Adhikari struck the match-winner to help Rohini Club beat Goodwill Club 1-0. Rohini has 11 points from five matches.

Uttaranchal Heroes recorded a 4-1 triumph over Royal Bengal Club in a group ‘C’ encounter at the Ambedkar Stadium.

Kuldeep (2), Gopal and Manjeet scored the goals for the winner. Vikram Singh converted a penalty kick to fetch a goal for the loser.

Mughals Club sailed past Young Boys 3-1 for its fifth successive victory to reach 15 points while the later wound up its campaign with seven points.
