Angad Kumar for Bangkok marathon

KOLKATA: Uttarakhand’s Angad Kumar, who was second behind Bhairon Singh Lone, in the Kolkata marathon held in February this year, will be the lone Indian entry in the Standard Chartered Bangkok international marathon to be held on Sunday. Lone will miss the competition owing to bereavement in his family.

Kumar said he had been meticulously preparing for the race. “I have been clocking very close to 2:18 minutes (the best clocked in Bangkok), and am confident of doing well,” he said. — Special Correspondent
