Asian Paints takes up maintenance work

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Asia Paints, a leading paint manufacturer, has announced that it has temporarily shut down its phthalic anhydride plant at Ankleshwar in Gujarat, partly for maintenance work.

According to sources, the plant was making chemicals used for manufacturing paints and the company had enough inventories at present.

However, the sources said it was a routine affair for any manufacturing plant to do overhauling and carrying out the maintenance work.

The company sources claimed that the shutting down would not create any impact on the paints business. The company had two chemical plants, one at Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu and the other at Ankleshwar.
