AIFB wants all-party meet on economic crisis

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Charging Finance Minister P. Chidambaram with “evading his responsibilities” by issuing statements instead of taking firm steps to insulate India from the global financial crisis, the All India Forward Bloc on Wednesday demanded an all-party meeting to discuss the crisis.

Reacting to the Finance Minister’s suggestion that private companies should reduce the tariffs and prices, the party said Mr. Chidambaram was doing nothing to protect the interests of the common people.
