Gold appraiser arrested in Ervadi

TIRUNELVELI: The District Crime Branch police have arrested a gold appraiser of a nationalised bank at Ervadi.

A statement said B. Ravindran of North Valliyoor had certified that 630 gm of gold jewels pledged by 11 customers as genuine and Rs.3.63 lakh was given as loan by the bank.

When another appraiser assessed them, he found them to be imitation.

Based on a complaint, Ravindran was arrested on Thursday.
