Red sanders seized

CHENNAI: Officials of the Docks Intelligence Unit of the Customs at the seaport recalled a container that went to Malaysia from which they seized 5 tonnes of red sanders.
C. Rajan, Commissioner of Customs, said the container was sent to the port and loaded in a vessel even while the authorities wanted to check the contents.
The materials in the container were declared as Pottasium feldspar, which was packed in 20 jumbo bags, weighing 20 tonnes.
An examination revealed that instead of jumbo bags, the container had 181 logs of red sanders , along with 100 bags of greyish powder, weighing 5 tonnes.
