Ammunition seized from Theni medical college dean

CHENNAI: Security personnel at the Kamaraj domestic terminal at the Chennai airport on Thursday seized two empty cartridges and two rounds of live ammunition from P. Jayakumar, Dean, Theni Medical College and Hospital.

Airport sources said Mr. Jayakumar came to the airport around 6.30 a.m. to board a Madurai-bound flight. A check of his handbag revealed that it contained the ammunition.

The security personnel seized it and handed it over to the Airport police.
