DINDIGUL: A new born female was found alive near a small stream at Gayathri Nagar on Karur by-pass road near Nandhavanapatti here on Thursday. Manoharan, owner of a vacant site in Gayathri Nagar, found the baby near the stream. Acting on his information, hospital workers shifted the baby to the government headquarter hospital for treatment. Doctors said that the new born was thrown out a few hours after the delivery. However, its condition was stable. The baby was expected to be handed over to Social Welfare Department officials to take care of it under cradle baby scheme.
