Naidu tells farmers not to accept State’s incentive
Correspondent
KOSGI (Mahbubnagar dist.): If voted to power the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) would set up a special court to enquire into the alleged amassing of wealth by Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
The party president N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Thursday that the enquiry would go into his assets before the 2004 elections and after the Congress came to power.
Addressing party activists at ‘Maha Dharna’ here, he said Dr. Reddy’s ‘ill-gotten’ wealth would be confiscated and used for people’s welfare. He called upon farmers, who had repaid their bank loans promptly, not to accept the Rs. 5,000 cash incentive offered by the government. He assured them that if voted to power, his party would waive bank loans of ryots.
The TDP president, who was received by an impressive gathering, addressed several road shows and hoisted party flags at several places in the Kodangal Assembly constituency. Mr. Naidu promised to take up an irrigation project to bring the Jurala water to the Kodangal constituency, if the party was votes to power.
