Residents block road

SALEM: School students along with the residents of Thottampatti village blocked the traffic near Taramangalam on Wednesday urging the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation to direct its drivers to stop the buses at their village.

They claimed that a majority of the drivers were not stopping at the village to pick up passengers, which left the students to face difficulties in reaching their school on time.

They also wanted the Corporation to instruct the drivers and conductors to treat the school students with respect.Police personnel rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators. Traffic in the area was affected for a short period of time.
