Special Correspondent

Month-long programme starting in December

THANJAVUR: Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Institute in Tamil Nadu will organise a programme for promoting entrepreneurial skills among educated youth in association with Periyar Technology Business Incubator (Periyar TBI) at Periyar Maniammai University at Thanjavur.

The first programme is being organised exclusively for the women graduates, said a press release issued here on Thursday.

Starting in the first week of December, the month-long programme will motivate the young women graduates to hone their business interests, develop knowledge on products, production process, marketing, finance, legal requirements and all related issues.

The participants will be assisted to develop their business plans, which will be evaluated by the bank officials and selected candidates will be taken for incubation by the Periyar TBI. Mentoring will be extended for another two years.

The MSME policies of both the State and Central Governments are very encouraging and there are ample hopes for women entrepreneurs.

Periyar TBI is a grant-in-aid project of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, specially focussing on women entrepreneurs.

Young women graduate entrepreneurs, who are running their businesses, can attend the programme. Residential facilities for outstation candidates are arranged. Interested women graduates may register their names with the Chief Executive Officer of the Periyar TBI over phone number 9952860988 and attend the motivation camp on November 18 at the University for selection. Women graduates from all over the State are eligible to attend. There is no registration fee for both the programmes.
