The 12 students of Shaolin Power Kick Karate-do Federation of India in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. MLA D. Srinivasa Rao, MD of Wellfare group M. Vijaya Prasad and coach Ismail are also seen. VISAKHAPATNAM: Vizagites have the habit of creating records. There are many from the city, especially children, who have entered the records books of repute like the Guinness and the Limca for performing acts, which are difficult and unique. The latest is a bunch of 12 who entered the Limca Book of Records for swinging the double nan-chak, a martial arts weapon, non-stop for 24 hours. The dozen performed the feat at the Swarna Bharati indoor stadium here on May 24-25 and their attempt has been considered as a record by the Limca Book of Records authorities and was included in the book. Ismail of the Shaolin Power Kick Karate-do Federation of India coached the 12. Each one of them has received a certificate from the Limca Book of Records while another certificate was issued to recognise the team’s effort. The 12 record performers are K. Janaki Rao, K. Kondala Rao, Y. Chiranjeevi, K. Upendra, N. Ramoji, K. Prem Sai, S.K. Munna, Ch. Uday Kumar, K. Ramesh Naidu, B. Rahul, S.K. Mastan and Ch. Leelaprasad Raju. The 12 made a lot of preparation and practiced well before embarking on the record-making effort. They have performed in front of the Limca Book of Records officials in New Delhi also. Their effort was supported by MD of Wellfare group of companies Malla Vijaya Prasad. MLA of Visakha-I Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao felicitated the 12 martial arts students and their coach Ismail.
