Nammazhvar Sangeetha Sabha formed

KOCHI: Moozhikulam Sala is not stopping with the Nammazhvar Navarathri music festival. It is following up the festival with the formation of the Nammazhvar Sangeetha Sabha, dedicated to the Tamil Bhakti poet.

The poet is believed to have visited Moozhikulam nearly 1,200 years ago. A Vaishnavite poet, Nammazhar wrote a poem titled Thirumoozhikulam about the deity here, which was later translated and published by Kerala Sahitya Akademi.

Renowned Carnatic vocalist Neyveli Santhanagopalam will inaugurate the Sangeetha Sabha at the St. Mary’s Parish Hall, Moozhikulam, on Friday at 6.30 p.m. Thiruvaroor Bhakthavalsalam will deliver the keynote address.

Kalathi Mekkad Parameswaran Namboodiri will preside and Carnatic musician Sreevalsan J. Menon will talk.
