Two JeM militants killed in gun battle
Srinagar: Two Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammad militants were killed in a gun battle at village Daril-Vilgam in Handwara area of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
The militants were identified as Shamsheer alias “Showkat bhai” and Irfan alias “Abu Talib,” both residents of Pakistan, a police spokesman said.
A joint party of police and army cordoned off the village following specific information about the presence of militants. The militants, who were hiding in the house of Abdul Ahad Rawat, opened fire on the search party but were killed in retaliatory action, the spokesman said. — PTI
