Bangalore: The Caravan for Peace and Justice organised by the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind will arrive in the city on Thursday. The caravan, under the leadership of Moulana Syed Jalaludduin, chief of the Jamaat, has been touring the country and set off from Delhi on November 10.

The caravan will reach the State after having passed through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Another group is covering Assam, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. According to Mohammed Atharulla Shariff, Karnataka and Goa Zonal Secretary of the Jamaat, the purpose of this grand national caravan is to create awareness about the demonisation of Muslims at the hands of the State and police forces. According to the press release, the Jamaat demanded that investigative agencies and police must not blame one particular community for the incidents of terror.
