Coast Guard DG visit

Director-General of Indian Coast Guard Vice Admiral R.F.Contractor visited the Indian Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (East) in the city on Wednesday and reviewed a ceremonial parade at CGAS Chennai. According to a release, Mr. Contractor appreciated the coast guard units for providing prompt assistance to the fishermen at sea. He said the service would induct an advanced offshore patrol vessel, three pollution control vessels, five inshore patrol vessels and eleven interceptor boats by 2009. Nine new shore stations were being planned, the release said.
