Clear guidelines sought
Staff Reporter
MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Foodgrains’ Merchants Association has urged the State Health Minister to frame clear guidelines on sale of products in shops.
In a press release, association secretary P. Subash Chadra Bose said that the State Government should clearly spell out what products could be sold and what could not be.
He said that on October 20 the authorities had seized several products from shops stating that they did not have ISI certification. Mr. Bose alleged that the authorities did not give any list of receipt for seized products. Clear and unambiguous guidelines would help traders, he said.
