BIG KNOCK: Sahil Kukreja’s characteristic innings was the highlight of the final day. Chennai: Mumbai opener Sahil Kukreja made 229 to shut out host Delhi’s comeback hopes on the final day of the Ranji Trophy Super League match on Wednesday. Mumbai, which had gained a hard-fought first innings lead over defending champion Delhi, was 468 for four in its second innings when the contest concluded. Opener Wasim Jaffer — he added 179 with Kukreja for the first wicket — missed his century by two runs. The visitor gained three points for the lead. At Mysore, left-arm spinner K.P. Appanna picked up four wickets as Karnataka defeated Andhra by 202 runs. Saurashtra surpassed Punjab’s 482 with ease at Rajkot; skipper Jayadev Shah made 178.
