Joshna advances

CHENNAI: After the success in one super satellite tournament, a WISPA event, a few days ago, India’s national champion Joshna Chinappa moved to the semifinal of another super-satellite tourney with fluent victories in the two rounds she had played till date.

She beat Malaysian Low Wee Nee 11-6, 13-11, 11-5 in the quarterfinal after getting past Rachael Goh, also of Malaysia 11-6, 11-4, 11-2 in the first round of the 16-player main draw.

Meanwhile second seeded Lim Yoke Wah (Malaysia) went down to unseeded Melody Francis of Australia.
