Core committee on e-governance formed

BANGALORE: The Government on Wednesday ordered constitution of a core committee for developing an e-governance roadmap for the State, with the objective of bringing Karnataka to the forefront of e-governance in the country. The committee will be headed by chairman of Infosys Technologies Nandan Nilekani. The committee is to design strategy in tune with Karnataka Vision 2020 Document; to identify priority projects, develop action plans and fix milestones; to develop monitoring mechanism of identified e-Governance projects, and to suggest policy refinements to achieve goals.

Other members of the committee are Mohan Das Pai, director (Human Resources) Infosys Technologies, M.P. Kumar, chairman, Global Edge Software Ltd., Mahabaleshwara Hegde, e-governance consultant; Sadagopan, director, IITB; Vivek Kulkarni, chairman and CEO, Brickwork India; Shrikanth Nadhamuni, e-government Foundation; Sobha Nambisan, Principal Secretary to Government, Planning Department; B.L. Sridhar, Principal Secretary (DPAR-AR), e-Governance; Arvind Jadhav, Principal Secretary, Infrastructure Development Department; M.N. Vidyashankar, Principal Secretary (DPAR-Elections), and Ajay Seth, Secretary (Expenditure), Finance Department.
