Funds for Vidya volunteers’ salaries

HYDERABAD: The Department of School Education has released Rs. 3.77 crore for meeting the salary expenditure of the ‘Vidya’ volunteers for June, July and August quarters. According to K. Venugopal, president, Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Federation, the government has sanctioned earned leave for teachers for May 2009 election duty during the summer vacation.
