Inaugurated
The GRD School of Social Work of the Dr. G.R. Damodaran College of Science got a new mental health wing. The wing will adopt various schools in and around Coimbatore to promote positive mental health of the children.
Student empowerment
PSG College of Technology entered into a memorandum of understanding with Wipro Technologies.
The MoU envisages a set of planned activities and interactions addressing various stakeholders, namely students, faculty and the institute.
It is expected to build industry-academia relationship and empower students to gear up for the challenges of the corporate scenario.
Village adopted
The Department of Social Work of the Nehru Arts and Science College adopted a tribal village as part of its extension study. Coopanari tribal village was adopted in collaboration with Native Medicare Charitable Trust. The students will help establish a library and spread awareness about health, hygiene, literacy and women empowerment.
Book release
“Turn Your Sorrow”, a book authored by P.P. Job, founder-director of Michael Job Centre, Coimbatore, was released by T. Padmanabhan, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Education University, Chennai. A.R. Veeramani, Registrar of the university, felicitated.
Mou signed
RVS College of Engineering and Technology entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. Under the MoU, BSNL will share knowledge resources with the college by lending its experts for seminars, conferences and workshops. Students will also get trained at the programmes organised by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
