Dispose of land cases in two months: Collector

BERHAMPUR: The revenue officials of Berhampur sub-division were advised by the Ganjam district Collector, V.K. Pandian to dispose the encroached land cases within two months in urban areas.

While attending a workshop of revenue officials of the sub-division regarding enhancement of revenue collection and computerisation of revenue records, Mr. Pandian added that encroached land cases in urban areas had to dealt with logically.

The workshop held in the MKCG Medical College auditorium was attended by 76 Revenue Inspectors (RI), five tehsildars of Berhampur sub-division.

The additional District Magistrate, Sashibhusan Padhi, Sub-Collector Dhananjay Swain were also among the revenue officials present.

The Collector stressed on increase in revenue collection and measures by revenue officials to reduce disputes. He asked them to resolve the mutation cases as early as possible without dropping them.

According to him it was high time to make detailed enquiry about the agricultural land in rural areas and proper verification of the land inhabited by scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.

The RIs were asked to make on the spot enquiry about the crop losses in the areas, which had faced drought like situation during the current kharif season so that the farmers did not face any problem to get their crop insurance claims.
