WARANGAL: Superintendent of Police V.C. Sajjannar has said that he has received an email from the Nashville police about the case in which Indian student Sashanka Pulluru was shot at reportedly by a group of blacks. Mr. Sajjanar said the Nashville police had informed him that Murfreesboro was located 25 miles South-East of Nashville. The police spoke to the local detective Vanderbilt who, in turn, told the police that Sashanka’s condition was stable. The detective would interview the injured boy in two or three days about the incident. Robbery suspected“Pulluru was found inside his apartment with a gun shot wound on the left side of his chest and an exit wound on the back. A used 9 mm shell casing was located in the parking lot, however nothing else was found. As there was heavy rain at the time, little evidence could be gathered. We suspect it to be a robbery attempt, but nothing can be said until we talk to Pulluru,” the detective told the local police. The Warangal SP said he was asked by the US police to inform the Sashanka’s family members that his condition was upgraded from critical to stable and that he was being treated in one of the best hospitals in the area. Meanwhile, the parents of Sashanka -- Sudhakar and Arundathi -- left for Hyderabad to obtain a passport to proceed to the United States.
