17 fishermen rounded up by Sri Lankan Navy

PUDUKOTTAI: A total of 17 fishermen of Jegadapattinam in the district, who went fishing on Monday morning, were reportedly rounded up by the Sri Lankan navy for having crossed the International Maritime Boundary Line.

According to official sources, the fishermen ventured into the sea in five mechanised boats. They were scheduled to return on Tuesday. A team of Sri Lankan naval officials stopped them fishermen and took them to a coastal police station in Sri Lanka.
