Chennai: Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday said that the Adyar eco park was set to become a landmark in the city and development work would be completed by 2010.

Mr. Stalin said the Thiru.Vi.Ka. park was renovated at the cost of Rs. 1.52 crore. Decorative lights, fountains, stone benches and children’s play equipment had been provided.
He also inaugurated 19 other parks that were either renovated or newly-developed by the Chennai Corporation at various locations .
He said that the Corporation had spent Rs. 22.47 crore on park development in the past two years. About 400 roadside parks and 170 traffic island parks would also be developed.
Regular walkers in the park said that the civic body should not stop with the development works in such facilities but also ensure that they were maintained properly.
