Woman commits suicide

CHENNAI: A 21-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide at a departmental store in Tondiarpet where she was employed on Tuesday.

Police said S. Saranya of Korukkupet, who was working as a salesgirl in the store, resorted to self-immolation and died on the spot.

She took the extreme step following a misunderstanding with a colleague in the same store.

The Washermenpet police have registered a case.
