KOCHI: Homoeopathy practitioners under the Institution of Homoeopaths, Kerala (IHK), will take out a march to the Secretariat and hold a sit-in on Saturday demanding stringent laws to check frauds in the practice and to provide equal status to homoeopathy medical treatment as that of other medical streams. The march led by State president of IHK, S. Manilal, will be flagged off by K. S. Surendran Pillai, MLA, from Palayam Martyr’s Square at 10.30 a.m. The representatives of IHK in a press meet said that the State, which has a number of people taking to homoeopathy treatment, still does not have a proper registration system for homoeopaths. The Medical Practitioners Bill for checking fraudulent practice of the system of medicine is still not in place. Dr. Britto Cyriac Joseph, general secretary of IHK; Dr. G. Ernest, vice-president, Dr. Sundaram Velayudhan, public relations officer of IHK and Dr. Sadath Sait, district office-bearer addressed the press meet.
