Parmar’s bowling action to be assessed
Rajkot: Mohnish Parmar, the off-spinner under scrutiny, will travel with National Cricket Academy (NCA) coach Bharat Arun to Australia for testing and assessment of his action.
A senior official of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) confirmed that Parmar will play the remaining part of the Ranji Trophy Super League and proceed to Australia where he will undergo tests at the Australian Institute of Sports at Canberra on December 6.
The appointment at the AIS has been arranged by Dav Whatmore, Director, Cricket Operations, NCA.
The GCA official revealed that Parmar’s visit to Australia was decided when the off-spinner was at the NCA for assessment of his bowling action.
Parmar has taken around 60 wickets in the Ranji Trophy. This year he has taken 14, including the three he took against Hyderabad on Tuesday. Last week he took 6 for 143 against Mumbai.
His action is deemed suspect when he bowls the wrong one (doosra) and the faster deliveries.
