Mumbai takes first-innings lead

Chennai: Mumbai nailed a close race for the lead on the third day of the Ranji Trophy Super League clash against holder and host Delhi at the Feroze Shah Kotla ground on Tuesday.

Off-spinner Ramesh Powar and leggie Sairaj Bahutule picked up three wickets each as Delhi, pursuing 331 for the lead, slumped from 225 for four to 295 all out. Mithun Manhas made 98 and Rajat Bhatia 81 but there was little contribution from the rest.

Mumbai, then, progressed to 149 for no loss at stumps. Sahil Kukreja (77 batting) and Wasim Jaffer (71 batting) were together.

Super League (Day three): At Delhi: Mumbai 330 & 149 for no loss (S. Kukreja 77 batting, W. Jaffer 71 batting) vs Delhi 295 (M. Manhas 98, R. Bhatia 81).

At Sambalpur: Orissa 281 & 109 for three (S.S. Das 57 batting) vs Rajasthan 270 (G. Khoda 127, R. Bist 43, Dhiraj Singh seven for 83).

At Rajkot: Punjab 482 vs Saurashtra 405 for four (S. Kotak 102, C. Pujara 189).

At Delhi: Railways 224 vs Baroda 460 for eight (C. Williams 137, A. Bilakhia 157, S.A. Gaekwad 47, I.K. Pathan 40).

At Ghaziabad: Uttar Pradesh 150 & 119 (L. Balaji five for 42, C. Ganapathi four for 21) lost to Tamil Nadu 507 (S. Badrinath 123, D. Karthik 213, S. Vidyut 44, P. Gupta four for 123). Tamil Nadu six points, Uttar Pradesh 0.
