36.44 lakh tonnes of paddy arrives in Haryana mandis

CHANDIGARH: Nearly 36.44 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in Haryana’s agricultural markets during the current kharif season so far, an official spokesman said here on Tuesday.

He disclosed that out of the total paddy arrivals, about 17.85 lakh tonnes had been procured by the government agencies at the minimum support price and the remainder had been purchased by private millers and traders. He further added that Hafed had procured 7.55 lakh tonnes, the State Food and Supplies Department 5.31 lakh tonnes, the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 1.82 lakh tonnes, the Haryana Warehousing Corporation 67,592 tonnes, the Food Corporation of India 9,258 tonnes and Confed 2.38 lakh tonnes.

Meanwhile, 331,748 metric tonnes of bajra has arrived in the mandis of the State so far. Out of the total bajra arrival, 311,401 metric tones had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remainder had been purchased by private traders.
