Indian student out of danger, says family

WARANGAL: Pulluri Shashank, the 22-year-old Andhra student who was shot at outside his apartment in Tennesse, is stated to be “out of danger” after undergoing two surgeries even as State officials assured help to the family to facilitate their travel to the U.S.

Shashank, an MBA student at University of Middle Tennessee in southern U.S., received bullet injuries in his stomach and chest after he was fired at by an African American, but is now out of danger, his father Pulluri Sudhakar told PTI. He said two surgeries were performed on his son and he was being kept under observation.

Mr. Sudhakar, who does not have a passport, said he had approached authorities for help after which they assured him that he will get the travel documents by Tuesday morning. – PTI
