BDA to file criminal case

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) will file a criminal case against a woman employee of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited who allegedly tried to grab a site allotted to another person by using false documents.

According to a press release, Channamma was allotted a 30 x 40 site (No. 141) in ‘B’ Block in Koramangala in May 1984.

She took the possession certificate of the site after registering the lease-cum-sale deed with BDA on July 20, 1984. As the site was left vacant for a long time, a person by name Esther Sarojini Alex, a BSNL employee, approached the BDA posing as Ms. Channamma, the release said.

“She claimed that she had lost the original documents and requested the BDA to allow her to register the absolute sale deed. An advocate Shankar has helped her,” the release alleged.

Following an investigation by BDA officials, it was found that Ms. Alex and Mr. Shankar had connived to grab the site by “doctoring the documents”.

A criminal case will be filed against these persons, the release said.
