TRS asks YSR to spell out stand on Babli

HYDERABAD: TRS on Monday asked Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy to spell out the stand which the government would take when separate petitions filed by MPs -- B.Vinod Kumar, E. Dayakar Rao and Madhu Yashki -- on Babli project would come up for maintainability before the Supreme Court on November 25.

At a press conference here, Mr. Vinod and other TRS leaders said the government’s counsel during the last hearing of the case had urged the apex court to dismiss the petitions. Would the same stand be taken again or would the government argue that the project was against the interests of A.P., they asked. With Maharashtra constructing 11 other projects along with Babli, they said that a body on the lines of the Tungabhadra Board should be constituted.
