VIJAYAWADA: The city police on Monday arrested G. Subrahmanyam, 29, on charge of killing Bhukya Adiseshu at Priyadarshini Nagar of Yanamalakuduru on the intervening night of November 12 and 13. Addressing a press conference here, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) U.V.S. Raju charged Subrahmanyam, a tailor from Patamata, with having an illicit relationship with the boy’s mother. She recently ended her relationship with Subrahmanyam and allegedly started moving intimately with Dada, a resident of Yanamalakuduru. Irked over this, Subrahmanyam thrashed her at her residence after entering into a heated argument. Adiseshu tried to prevent the accused from beating his mother. In a fit of rage, Subrhamanyam hit the boy with the ‘housing’ of a ceiling fan. The accused later injured the boy’s mother on her wrist with a blade, he charged, adding that the Penamaluru police had registered a case and would present the accused in a court of law. The accused, however, alleged that the boy’s mother had attacked her with a blade and injured him on the wrist. “Enraged over this, I attacked them,” he said. East Zone ACP Krishna Rao, Patamata Inspector Ch. Lakshmipathi and Penamaluru Sub-Inspector Satyanandam were also present.
