Students suspended

Ten students studying Plus Two at a school in Usilampatti were placed under suspension on Monday.

Police said that based on reports submitted by the Usilampatti sub-division police that the students allegedly indulged in demonstration and pelted stones at four buses last week to condemn the assault of law students in Chennai, 10 students were suspended by the school authorities.

Similarly, three other Plus Two students studying in a Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Usilampatti were likely to be placed under suspension as they did not turn up for classes on Monday.

Chief Educational Officer R. Pandurangan said that the three boys had abstained from classes when examinations were under way.
