13,258 job aspirants had registered at the fair 87 companies participated in the event BANGALORE: As many as 1,169 candidates have been provided employment at the job fair organised by the Labour Department in Hubli on Sunday. Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Minister for Labour Bache Gowda said 13,258 job aspirants had registered during the day-long fair in Hubli. Eighty-seven companies participated in the event. Patil Electrical Company Limited, Hubli, offered jobs for 25 candidates while Shantala Power Research Corporation, Belgaum, provide employment to 17 candidates. The G.S. Four Security Services, Bangalore, offered employment to 584 and Arvind Mills absorbed 543 candidates, he said. The companies had selected 3,084 candidates for various jobs while 5,228 have been selected for further training. As many as 3,777 candidates, who did not perform well in the first test, would be given the test again, the Minister said. The Emergency Management and Research Institute of Satyam Group had promised to take 2,000 candidates, Jem Sugars 160, Airtel and L.G. Eletricals agreed to offer jobs 100 candidates each. Mr. Gowda said the next job fair would be held in Gulbarga next month. The Government has proposed to provide jobs to 10 lakh unemployed educated persons in the next five years, he said. Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has released Rs. 25 crore for conducting fairs and promised to grant another Rs. 30 crore soon, he said.
