Veeraswami for early completion of project

CHENNAI: Electricity Minister Arcot N. Veeraswami on Monday called for early completion of the capacity addition of the Mettur Thermal Power Station.

Officials of the Chinese company, DongFang Electric Corporation (DEC), which has been entrusted with the boiler and turbine-generator (BTG) package, met the Minister, who wanted them to complete the work early so that the 600-MW plant could be commissioned by January 2011, instead of September 2011, says an official release.
