BANGALORE: Minister for Labour B.N. Bachche Gowda on Monday said he had been “receiving threat calls” after he made allegations against former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda and his family members. Addressing presspersons here, the Minister said: “I am receiving threat calls from the day I made allegations against Mr. Gowda and his sons — H.D. Kumaraswamy and H.D. Revanna. “I have given the call details to the Bangalore city Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari,” he said. Mr Bachche Gowda, a one-time associate of the former Prime Minister and now in the BJP, said he currently had ‘Y’ category security cover and asked the police to raise it to ‘Z’ category. Asked about the reason for the outburst against Mr. Gowda, the Minister said the former Prime Minister had insulted him. “I belong to the family of Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bangalore,” he said and alleged that Mr. Gowda who always spoke about farmers had done nothing for them.
