CII organises fifth State-level quality circle competition for operators PUDUCHERRY: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Puducherry, recently organised its fifth State-level quality circle competition for operators. According to a release, the Chairman of CII, Puducherry, Sriram Subramanya, inaugurated the competition. He said that employee involvement in various activities of the company should be encouraged. Employees’ participation in such activities would improve work environment, besides productivity and quality. Mr. Subramanya said that it had become important for the employees and employers to work together in this era of global economic slow down and financial crisis. There were several challenges ahead such as employee utilisation, productivity improvement, reduction in rework and rejection, he said. Three winners of the Puducherry State-level competition would compete at the CII’s Southern Regional level competitions in December at Kochi. Quality circles from various CII member companies took part in the competition, the release said.
