Kasaragod triumphs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kasaragod (28 pts) and Kottayam (28 pts) won the overall titles in boys and girls sections respectively in the State junior wrestling championships at the Central stadium here on Sunday. Kottayam (27 pts) and Kollam (22 pts) finished second and third in boys sections.

The final placings: Boys: 50kg: 1.V.S.Arun (Tvm). 55kg: 1. Sudeeshmon (Klm) 60kg: Muhammed Sakharia (Ksgd). 66kg: 1. A. Vipin (Tvm). 74kg: 1. S. Suneesh (Ekm). 84kg: 1. Jacky Soman (Ktm). 96kg: 1. Kiran Raj (Ktm). 120kg: V.P. Sinoj (Klm). Team championship: Kasaragod (28pts), 2. Kottayam (27 pts), 3. Kollam (22 pts).

Girls: 44kg: 1. A.K. Latha (Tvm). 48kg: 1. V.C. Anumol (Wyd). 51kg: 1. C. Jibisha (Tvm). 55kg: 1. Reshma (Tvm). 59kg: 1. P.K. Surya (Tvm). 63kg: 1. S. Soorya (Alp). 67kg: Joice George (Ekm). 72kg: Aswathy S. Gangadharan (Alp).
