Teachers honoured

CHENNAI: Teachers who received national and State awards for best teachers were honoured at the Children’s Day celebrations organised by the Mylapore Academy on Sunday.

The academy organised the event in association with Indian Overseas Bank, Kappa Charitable Trust, Singhvi Charitable Trust and Lions Club International, District 324 A1.

Kasthuriba Club, dedicated to welfare of children, was felicitated for its service for more than 50 years. R. Shanker Babu, of Shastri Scout Group, was felicitated for his service to the Scout movement for more than 50 years.

Children who won in painting and fancy dress competitions were given prizes.

Madras High Court judge S. Rajeswaran was the chief guest.
