COLOMBO: An Indian ship containing 1,700 metric tones of food and relief material for displaced Sri Lankan citizens arrived here on Sunday. “The material packed in 100 boxes has been unloaded from the ship at the Colombo port. Once we complete the customs and other formalities we would transport the goods to the International Committee Red Cross (ICRC) storage facility. The process is expected to take two to three days. A ceremony would be held to mark the handing over of the material as a gift to the ICRC for distribution among the internally displaced citizens in the northern Sri Lanka,” Vikram Misri, Deputy High Commissioner of India, told The Hindu.
