OBA donated a total of 100 dictionaries apart from setting up endowments for meritorious students CHENNAI: The centenary celebration of the Old Boys Association (OBA) of Hindu Higher Secondary School concluded here with a brief ceremony on Saturday. A souvenir and a keychain marking the centenary were released on the occasion which was attended by a number of old students of the school. Speaking at the valedictory, K S. Sripathi, Chief Secretary, said that the school is so renowned that the list of its alumni would feature the who’s who of our city. “The galaxy of eminent past students of the school should network and inculcate values into the younger generations of the institution,” added Mr. Sripathi. T. K. Parthasarathy, Vice-Chancellor of Ramachandra Medical College, an alumnus, went nostalgic after saying that he never misses to drive past his school on Big Street when in Triplicane. “The greatest aspect of my school is that it nurtured character and culture in its students,” he added. The event witnessed the release of the 98-page centenary souvenir by Mr. Sripathi which was received by R. Nataraj, Director General of Police (Prisons), also an old student of the institution and the Chief Patron of OBA. The OBA also donated a total of 100 dictionaries to the school apart from setting up endowments for meritorious students passing out of the school. A few old students present at the occasion including the oldest alumni Parthasarathy Iyengar from the batch of 1927 were felicitated by the association.
